HYBA 2022-23 - Winter 2023

Harrison Youth Basketball Association (HYBA) is one of the largest of its kind in Georgia and provides boys 1st-12th and girls 1st-6th grade with the opportunity to learn and play. We practice once a week and play 8 games for 1st-8th grade.  Games and practices take place at area middle schools when available and other local facilities.  At this time we are only planning to have our 1st-2nd grade players in a carpeted gym. 


Practice nights this season will rotate between two specific nights of the week.  This could include any weeknight, Monday through Friday.  Games will take place on Saturdays and Sundays.  Sunday games will always start in the afternoon or evening.  You will have some weekends with two games.  The season ends in February before winter break with a single-elimination tournament.


Practices will begin the week of November 7 with a game schedule released soon after.

Misc:
For 1st-8th grade, we are unable to accommodate "same team" requests (exception is siblings in the same age group).  Players are evaluated and drafted on teams to ensure competitive balance.  The coaches pick the teams.  Coaches also will pick their practice night rotation.

9-12 grades:

HYBA extends into high school grades as well.   Boys grades 9 - 12 will have far fewer practices so the registration fee is lower.

The season for 9-12 grade will start in November with playoffs concluded by Mid-January.   

We need coaches! This league consists of parent volunteer coaches. Without coaches, we cannot put teams together. Check the appropriate box during registration to indicate your coaching interest. Coaches have input on their teams as in previous years.
